How To Become Your Future-Self by Mel Fessahaye, Elite Lifecoach
What do we / people want the most?
The most popular desire we have is to become our future selves, embodying the healthier, happier, and wealthier versions of who we want to be. As a coach incorporating NLP and hypnotherapy, I emphasize the importance of visualization in my coaching sessions.
Without visualizing, it can be challenging to envision our future selves; if we struggle to imagine it becomes difficult to transform into those versions. As you continue reading, I encourage you to explore various ways to embrace your higher self. Keep an eye out for the key takeaways I’ve highlighted throughout; there’s something for everyone.
I am worthy of love, happiness, and success.
7 Steps To A New You!
Becoming your future self involves envisioning the person you aspire to be and taking intentional steps to align your present actions with that vision. This transformative journey requires clarity, commitment, and a willingness to grow. Here are some steps to help you embody your future self:
1. Visualize Your Future Self:
Start by creating a vivid image of who you want to become. Consider your values, goals, and the qualities that define this future version of yourself. What does a typical day look like? How do you feel and interact with others? The clearer your vision, the easier it will be to make it a reality.
2. Set Specific Goals:
Break down your vision into actionable goals. These should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) to ensure that you have a clear roadmap to follow. Each goal should bring you one step closer to your future self.
3. Develop the Necessary Skills:
Identify the skills and knowledge required to become your future self. Invest time in learning and personal development through courses, books, or mentorship. Continual growth is key to bridging the gap between your current and future self.
4. Cultivate Positive Habits:
Examine the habits that your future self would have and begin integrating them into your daily routine. Whether it’s practicing mindfulness, exercising regularly, or dedicating time to creative pursuits, consistent habits will reinforce your transformation.
5. Embrace Change and Adaptability:
Your path to becoming your future self may encounter unexpected challenges. Embrace change with an open mind and view obstacles as opportunities for growth. Adaptability will empower you to navigate life’s uncertainties with resilience.
6. Reflect and Adjust:
Regularly assess your progress and reflect on your journey. Are your actions aligned with your future self? What adjustments can you make to improve? Self-reflection is a powerful tool for staying on course and making necessary changes.
I am at peace with my past and excited about my future.
7. Surround Yourself with Support:
Build a network of supportive individuals who inspire and motivate you. Whether it’s friends, family, or a mentor, having a strong support system can provide encouragement and accountability as you work towards becoming your future self.
By following these steps, you can embark on a fulfilling journey towards becoming the best version of yourself. Remember, transformation takes time and patience, but with dedication and perseverance, you can achieve your highest potential.

Trends in the coaching industry
The life coaching industry is constantly evolving, offering a variety of innovative tools and trends to help you achieve personal growth and manage stress effectively. One such trend is the increased use of digital platforms and apps that provide on-the-go access to coaching resources, making it easier for clients to integrate these practices into their daily lives.
Additionally, there is a growing emphasis on mindfulness and meditation techniques, which are being incorporated into coaching sessions to enhance mental clarity and emotional resilience. As the industry continues to adapt, these tools serve as valuable assets for anyone looking to improve their well-being and navigate life’s challenges with confidence. CALM and Headspace are just two of the numerous wellbeing and mental health apps available to support you on your mental health journey.
If a specific celebrity’s lifestyle, resilience, and determination to reach their level of success inspires you, consider reading their autobiography. Gaining insight into their journey can be incredibly motivating and enlightening, often revealing new techniques that you can apply to your own path.
I am surrounded by supportive people who uplift and inspire me.
The Control Room.
The idea of a Control Room in the mind is a fascinating metaphor for understanding how we manage our thoughts, emotions, and reactions. Imagine your mind as a control room filled with various levers and switches, each corresponding to different aspects of your mental and emotional state. By learning to operate this control room, you can effectively regulate your inner world, enhancing your overall well-being.
To start, envision a panel dedicated to your emotional responses. Here, you can adjust the levels of emotions like joy, fear, anger, and anxiety. By practicing mindfulness and self-awareness, you gain the ability to turn down the volume on negative emotions and amplify positive ones. This doesn’t mean suppressing feelings, but rather acknowledging them and choosing how to respond in a balanced way.
Next, consider a section for your self-talk. This is where you can reframe your inner dialogue, reducing the influence of your inner critic and boosting the encouragement from your inner cheerleader. Positive affirmations and cognitive restructuring techniques are valuable tools for adjusting in this area.
Finally, the control room also houses mechanisms for personal growth and learning. Here, you can set goals, track progress, and reflect on your journey. Regularly visiting this area helps you stay aligned with your aspirations and continuously nurture your development. Your control room is under your control. You can have one assistant in there following your instructions and switching on or off the buttons or a small team of assistants: it’s your decision.
By visualizing and actively engaging with your mental control room, you empower yourself to take charge of your mental landscape. This proactive approach fosters resilience, emotional intelligence, and a deeper understanding of oneself, paving the way for a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Visualizing a Control Room: Imagine this image in your mind, or feel free to design and create your own control room filled with as many switches and colours as you like.
